Mendocino Farms has grown in the past 5 years, opening up dozens of locations all around Southern California, and Sherman Oaks is happy to have them here! This sandwich shop serves the highest quality ingredients in combinations that will make your mouth water just from reading the menu!

The best part? Their “blue plate” option gives you a chance to order half of a sandwich with a small side: the perfect portion size. Plus, their sides (which are all available to sample) are made fresh and are each equally delicious. Enjoy your sandwich, soup, salad and/or side no matter your mood and no matter your diet restrictions (yes, they have a vegan menu)!

Who doesn’t love a good acai bowl on a summer’s day? The Harvest Bar is our favorite place to go for this trendy and healthy food craze, and it is one of the best acai bowls in the area. While they also serve amazing, fresh salads, we recommend you come here for your fix of healthy berries and greens. Our favorite is the Greens Bowl, which gives you all of the nutrients you need for a successful and energy-filled day.

Looking for a healthy, vegan twist on classic Thai meals? You have officially fount it! veSTATION is an all-vegan Asian fusion restaurant that blends all that you love about Thai flavors and textures with health-conscious, plant-based ingredients. If you are on a health kick, you might avoid some of the fried options available, but know that this is a place you can bring your carnivorous friends to actually enjoy meat-free foods. We recommend the Raw Kale Salad, Red Curry or their version of Pad Thai. You will not regret making this your next lunch date (or Netflix and takeout night).

For a quick, healthy meal that will not break the bank, look no further than California Pita. This place has authentic Mediterranean meals that taste great, are made fresh and are packed with nutrients. Most Mediterranean meals are light and include protein of your choice, salad, and hummus (though you can add rice as well). They also deliver locally, so you can enjoy your kebab right from your couch or desk!

Yagumo Sushi

Yagumo may not be in Sherman Oaks, but right down the street in Van Nuys is this cozy little sushi spot that serves some of the best sushi in Los Angeles. You cannot beat prices here, especially for the quality of their fish and kindness of the servers and chefs. Though they do have sushi options for the less health-conscious crowd, a plate of Nigiri with a side of edamame may be one of the best, healthiest meals there is. Plus, you can enjoy watching (or partaking in) one of their spicy challenges, which involves eating two hand rolls with a spicy level 10. Challenge winners get a free t-shirt and a photo on the wall (and of course bragging rights!).
